5 Awesome Ways to Enjoy Your Car Again
It’s back! Finally, after far too long, your beloved car is back on the road.
Having been tucked away in storage, we bet you can’t wait to be enjoying the open roads once again.
But, before you get all gung-ho and push the pedal to the metal, take the time to give it a good once over and check that everything is in full working order.
As soon as she’s ready to go, get out there and enjoy driving once again. Here’s a few ideas how you could do just that:
1. Admire it
Take a deep breath and revel in its beauty.
Then, with a smile on your face, get under the bonnet and have a quick look before you drive her away. Visually inspect under the car, the tyres, wheels and exhaust, before jumping in and turning that key in the ignition.
Once the engine starts to purr, check the brakes, the clutch and the steering wheel.
If it looks dandy, and you can no longer contain your excitement, it’s time to get out on the open road!
2. Wash it
You’ve probably missed long Sundays spent on the driveway, washing and waxing your car for hours at a time.
Now you have her back, you can once again fill your day carefully cleaning every part.
A good wash to get rid of dust and debris, a cracking wax to get her gleaming, and a full soapy wheel wash will have your much-loved motor looking as good as new.
3. Take it for a spin
This is it! The moment you have been waiting for. Treat your car with the love it deserves and go slowly at first.
Keep your eye out for any pesky warning lights on the dash and do pull over if any appear. If it looks and feels fine, then go for a nice long drive to warm it up and put that smile back on your face.
Don’t start racing people off the lights or trying to get from 0-60 in warp speed; go easy with her. Your car is designed to be driven and having it off the road for a period of time will mean it may need a gentle start to get going once again.
4. Share the fun
Nothing says “we love driving” more than a good, old-fashioned road trip.
Grab your better half, or your best mates and get on the road again - this time with purpose.
Whether you’re off for a day trip, or a week by the seaside, nothing feels better than chucking your bags in the boot and taking off into the sunset. Now you have your precious car back, you will be keen to take her everywhere with you but do make sure you go somewhere with secure parking - just in case someone else takes a shine to her too.
5. See, and be seen
Your car is your pride and joy, and you want to show everyone just how fab she is.
Whether you’re considering a car show or a slow saunter down the High Street, enjoying the appreciation of fellow enthusiasts is something you will have no doubt missed.
If you like to be seen, you could find the nearest meet up, car show or owners meeting and head over. After all, your car will be all shiny and new from its first wash after storage and will feel like a beautiful butterfly emerging from its storage cocoon.
